K.J. Osborn, a wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings, recently recounted his heroic rescue of a man from a burning car. Osborn, who was traveling in an Uber on an expressway in Austin, Texas at around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, stumbled upon the wreckage of a car that had collided with a pole and caught fire.

According to Austin police, the car's driver had already been removed from the vehicle by the time officers arrived on the scene. While the identities of the rescuers have not been confirmed, Osborn took to Twitter on Monday to share a photo of himself and three others who assisted in the rescue.

In his tweet, Osborn expressed gratitude for being "in the right place at the exact right time," and credited divine intervention for his involvement in the rescue. Meanwhile, the driver of the wrecked car was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation by authorities.

During a visit with friends in Austin, K.J. Osborn found himself in a situation that required quick thinking and heroic action. The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver recounted the incident in an interview on an ESPN podcast, explaining that while riding in an Uber, the group stumbled upon a car crash that had caused the vehicle to catch fire after colliding with the pillars of a freeway overpass.

Osborn and his Uber driver approached the car with caution, but the driver quickly opened the door while Osborn remained hesitant, concerned about the potential for an explosion. Together with two other bystanders, they were able to rescue the man trapped inside the burning car.

Osborn shared that without their assistance, the situation could have ended in tragedy. The group worked together to move the injured man away from the burning car, with Osborn even carrying him a short distance to safety.

Currently pursuing a master's degree in criminal justice at Miami, Osborn aspires to work as a private investigator or in the United States Secret Service. The Michigan native was a fifth-round draft pick by the Vikings in 2020, and has since become a valuable part of the team's offense, recording 110 receptions for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns over the last two seasons.
