WATCH: Former Bears RB David Montgomery Ends TNF with Game Winning Touchdown in Lions Debut
In the first game of the 2023 season, and former Bears RB David Montgomery first game as a Lion, lots of exciting plays occurred.
One of the most exciting plays of the game was what ended up being the game winning touchdown, which was ran by Montgomery:
Montgomery was drafted by the Bears back in 2019, as the teams 3rd round pick.
He then spent the next 4 seasons with the Bears, where he was used as the teams starting RB. After 4 seasons, and in 60 games, Montgomery has a total of 915 rushing attempts for 3,609 and 26 touchdowns.
After his rookie contract completed this past offseason, Montgomery decided to leave Chicago, but stayed in the NFC North.
In March of 2023, Montgomery signed a 3-year, $18 million contract with the Detroit Lions.
Now, Montgomery is playing for the Lions, and in his first game with the team, he is already making an impression.
Montgomery ended his Lions debut with 21 rushes for 74 yards, and the 1 touchdown, which was the game winner.
