What is wrong with ESPN?
ESPN has been criticized for telling stories of NFL Draft prospects' family tragedies on broadcast a few times already. I have compiled a few examples and honestly, this is absurd. The NFL Draft is supposed to be a great, happy, life-changing moment for these prospects. You don't need to include family tragedies and past trauma in the description.
When asked about the subject, ESPN released this statement:
«Our NFL draft coverage analyzes the prospects on the field and introduces the human side of the players by telling their stories, including the obstacles their families have overcome as part of the journey to the NFL.»
Must read on LetsBearDown
I get that it shows strength from these young men and everything but c'mon. This has to stop and I don't think this is the right place to talk about these tragedies on Draft Night... Do better in the future ESPN.
