As reported yesterday, Caleb Williams signed a four-year, $39 million deal with the Chicago Bears. Overall, the contract is fully guaranteed. It was a huge signing given the fact that Williams had been playing hard to get during camp. According to CBS Sports, there were some interesting requests from Williams' side of the negotiating table.
Essentially, his team wanted the Bears to promise that they would not use the Franchise Tag on Williams at the end of the contract. Unsurprisingly, the Bears hit Williams with a resounding "NO." With little leverage to stand on, Williams signed the deal, making him the Bears QB for at least the medium-term.
