49ers Starting QB Possibly OUT for Sunday after Displaying Concussion Symptoms

As revealed by insider Ian Rapoport, 49ers head coach told reporters that QB Brock Purdy has been placed on the concussion protocol after displaying symptoms on the plane ride home from Minnesota:

After the loss on MNF against the Vikings, there were no talks about Purdy suffering a concussion, as his symptoms were yet to kick in. More reports reveal that his symptoms only started to display during the plane ride home.

In 7 games played this season, Purdy has gone 131/193, thrown for 1,668 yards, scored 13 total touchdowns, and threw for 3 interceptions.

The 49ers have been considered to be the best team in the NFL this season, so without Purdy as their QB, they may be in trouble of facing a possible 3 game losing streak when they face the Bengals on Sunday.

If Purdy is unable to play, then former 3rd overall pick Sam Darnold will most likely be starting for the 49ers.
