By releasing Julio Jones with a post-June 1 designation, the Titans will save $11.5 million in 2022 cash and salary-cap space. They'll carry an $8.4 million dead cap hit in 2023.
Jones played his first 10 seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. He was then traded to the Titans prior to last year.
Now, the question is: could he be a target for the Bears? On paper, this sounds amazing. However, Jones has struggled with so many injuries in the past few seasons. He missed 14 games in the past 2 years with both the Falcons and the Titans.
If Poles wants to take a shot on a one-year deal, it could be interesting. I would never invest more than a year in him though. It is too much of a risk, especially since the Bears are looking to get younger, not older. I'm not denying the fact that Julio is one of the best players at his position in the history of the league, he is just not the same player anymore.
