It is no secret that the Chicago Bears are in need of a wide receiver. Not just one, they need multiple wideouts.
Amari Cooper has been involved in so many rumors lately. There were reports that he would be released by the Cowboys last week. However, we are now hearing that Jerry Jones is looking to trade his superstar receiver. But, the price tag on him is not as high as you would think. NFL insider and analyst Jordan Schultz reported that the Cowboys are looking for only a 3rd rounder and that they could even settle for a 4th round pick.
However, there is a catch to it. The team that would trade for him would have to take on his contract. Cooper has a cap hit of $22 million for the next 3 seasons. The Cowboys would need to take on a lot of that contract but it would still be somewhat costly for any team that would like to acquire him.
I would love to see him in Chicago because make no mistake about it, Amari Cooper is a great player. But, if the Bears have to pay him around $20 million per season, it's a no for me. If he is released and his new contract is lower than $15 million then we might have something there. So, to answer the question, no the Bears should not trade for Amari right now.
