Cowherd conveyed, "I received a call from the Caleb Williams camp, and they were like, 'Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on. Colin, we don't want to be portrayed as anti-Chicago, and we don't want to be seen as anti-Bear.'"
This revelation is reassuring news for the Bears, as it would have been a disastrous scenario if they selected Williams with the first overall pick, only for him to refuse to play.
