The Chicago Bears are reorganizing their offensive line after Teven Jenkins sustained a double calf strain that will sideline him for six weeks. Jenkins had shifted to the left side from the right guard position last year following the signing of Nate Davis. This injury is a setback for the offensive line, which had been practicing together for most of the offseason, apart from a recent injury to Cody Whitehair.

Mark Grote, the Bears reporter for The Score radio, revealed on Monday that the team has now moved Nate Davis to the right side, with Lucas Patrick taking over at center and Cody Whitehair at left guard. This change means that, instead of just Jenkins playing a new position, the Bears now have two new guards, one of whom is on a different side than last season. Whitehair had previously played at left guard during the last season.

Patrick, who didn't make a strong impression as a guard last year, was injured when he returned to his natural position at center. The hope is that Jenkins will recover quickly and that Patrick will be able to adequately handle the center position.

This latest development is a blow to an offensive line that struggled last year and doesn't need any additional hurdles to overcome.
