With the Bears 4th-round selection in the 2017 draft, they selected standout safety from the University of Alabama, Eddie Jackson.

Since then, Jackson has been a solid member to the Bears organization, being named to 2 Pro Bowls in 2018 and 2019, along with being named as a First-Team All-Pro in 2018.

Though he has not put up historic numbers or has been selected to any Pro Bowls or All-Pro teams, Jackson has continued to be consistent with his performances on the field.

With the Bears 2023 season already finished, that also means that Jackson's contract will be expiring this offseason, as he signed a 4-year deal back in 2020. The question now is; will the Bears sign him back?

During an interview recently, Jackson opened up about his contract expiring, and though no extension deal has been made yet, he states that he wants to stay in Chicago for the 2024 season:

"Lord willing, I hope I'm here next year"
- Jackson said

Though Jackson wants to stay, keeping him will mean that the Bears will need to spend a good amount of money on him, as his cap hit is likely to be $18.14 Million. The Bears would likely rather spend their money on signing a big name this free agency, so I think the only way we will see Jackson back in Chicago next season is if he takes a large pay cut.
