Bodycam Video Surfaces of Police Officer Begging Georgia Football Star Jalen Carter to Slow Down Months Before Teammate's Fatal Crash
Former Georgia Bulldogs star Jalen Carter has been in trouble for his reckless driving before. Recently, he turned himself in on charges of street racing and reckless driving, which occurred on the day his teammate and staff member died in a car accident. A newly surfaced body cam footage also showed an officer pulling him over months before the crash that killed Devin Willock and Chandler LeCroy, where Carter received a ticket for going 89 in a 45 MPH zone. The officer can be heard telling Carter to slow down, stating that he had already stopped a bunch of his football players.
Unfortunately, this cam footage turned out to be critical after the accident. After the wreck, Carter left the scene of the deadly crash and gave false statements about his whereabouts. Despite all these, he turned himself in and was able to make it to the NFL combine on time. However, it remains to be seen if his situation would significantly affect his draft position.
