Brown appeared in an Arizona courtroom on Wednesday, as he was charged with driving at an excessive speed of 126 miles per hour in a 65-mile per hour zone six months prior. The wide receiver entered a guilty plea, as evidenced in a video obtained by TMZ, where he is seen clad in black sweatshirt and pants. On the day of the hearing, Brown did not have much to say, but he and his attorney conveyed to the judge his intention to alter his original not-guilty plea to the misdemeanor charge.
Next month, Brown is scheduled for sentencing, at which point the court will determine his punishment. Possible sanctions include a fine of $500, a 30-day prison sentence, or a one-year probationary period. It is doubtful that the WR will be imposed a custodial term.
According to law enforcement, Brown was caught driving 61 miles per hour above the speed limit in a 2020 Mercedes on a highway in Maricopa County on August 3, 2022, leading to his arrest and incarceration.
Following the incident, Brown issued an apology at a practice session a few days later. Despite this, he had an inconsistent season with the Cardinals.
