Chase Young to the Bears? Trade Rumors Around the League Believe So
As the NFL trade deadline approaches in one week, fans, reporters, and the media are talking about all trade possibilities.
One trade rumor that was a popular discussion this past summer, is now back in the media. Commanders DE Chase Young's contract will be expiring by the end of the 2023 season, and many experts believe that he will leave Washington, and make Chicago his new home.
If the Commanders are smart, then they should trade him away now, instead of letting him walk away.
The Bears are a team that are still looking for their star defensive end, and Chase Young could certainly be that guy, at least that is what Bears fans are saying:
Young was the 2nd overall pick in 2020, and in his rookie year, he was named as the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, as well as Pro Bowler. After that season, the NFL did not see much of him, as he tore his ACL in 2021 and was on the PUP list for most of 2022.
Now, Young is back and healthy, and is looking like his rookie self. In just 6 games, he has made 14 tackles, 9 QB hits, 5 sacks, and 1 pass deflection.
If the Bears want to Young on their team, then they will need to offer something/someone great in exchange.
The Bears currently hold both the first and second 2024 draft pick, and if the Bears and Panthers continue to struggle, then those picks will be secured. For Young, one of these picks may need to be given to the Commanders.
Young is true talent, and when he stays healthy, he is one of the top players in the NFL. If Young is available, then the Bears should make an offer, and name him as a Chicago Bear by the time we enter the month of November.
