Ja'Tyre Carter
Willie Wright
I know, I know, there is not a proven player on that list. However, one of them is a very promising young player. It's rookie Ja'Tyre Carter. According to Chicago Football Connection, he should be the leader for that spot.
Here is what they said:
Carter is from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge. He is 6' 3",311 lbs. He ran a 5.12 40-yard dash at the Combine.
He is actually the first Southern University draft selection in 18 years. When he was asked about the possibility of being selected in this draft, he was very excited!
"It's crazy, it's been eye-opening, it's been busy. Just every day you're gonna just you just feel like you are going to do something. Every day a team will call you, and be like let's jump on Zoom," Carter said.
The offensive lineman was able to show off his athleticism at both the NFL Combine and his pro day.
"They were like, 'man, you 300-and-something pounds, you aren't supposed to jump on 30-foot vertical. Man, that's crazy. You just crazy,' and I'd be like, 'you know, like, I just put in the work,'" Carter said.
Here is what Jacob Infante had to say about his selection:
The Bears swoop up another talented OL and another Senior Bowl guy in Southern OG Ja'Tyre Carter.
He's another well-rounded lineman with good athleticism on tape. Ryan Poles is revamping this OL in his image, and Carter is a fantastic value in Round 7.
