Bears tight end Cole Kmet shared his perspective on the Raiders' performance, indicating that they seemed somewhat fatigued. Speaking on the Equanimeous and Amon-Ra St. Brown podcast, Kmet remarked, "It seemed like they were a little jet-lagged, I'm not gonna lie. I'm serious, the team we saw on tape was not the team that we played in my opinion. Bro, they were gassed. You could tell. We would run the ball a couple of times, and if we got that first first-down, and then the next play, we got a good six-yard chunk play on a run, they were done," as reported by Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.
The Raiders struggled to contain the Bears' running game, which amassed an impressive total of 173 yards. D'Onta Foreman led Chicago's rushing attack with 16 carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns, while Darrynton Evans contributed with 14 carries for 48 yards. What's remarkable is that the Bears achieved this rushing success without the presence of Justin Fields, known as one of the NFL's top rushing quarterbacks. Even without Fields, Chicago had no trouble moving the ball on the ground.
The effectiveness of the Bears' rushing game allowed them to control the time of possession, holding the ball for over 34 minutes during the game. It also provided valuable support for Bagent during his first start, as he completed 21 of 29 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown in the victory.
