In his introductory video from Halas Hall, Feeney sported a mullet, mustache, and trucker hat while delivering an impeccable "Da Bears" impression. During his first media session, he quoted what could be considered the most important line from the unofficial Bears' creed.
"I grew up hating the Green Bay Packers," stated Feeney.
Music to the ears of Bears fans.
Feeney, a native of Orland Park, was acquired by the Bears from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a 2024 sixth-round draft pick. He joins the team as a potential solution for their injury-plagued offensive line.
Teven Jenkins is currently on injured reserve with a "week-to-week" leg issue, while Nate Davis has been sidelined for part of training camp due to an undisclosed injury, as has rookie Darnell Wright. All are expected to be ready for Week 1, except for Jenkins.
The starting lineup for the offensive line remains uncertain. Presently, Lucas Patrick appears set to be the starting center, which moves Cody Whitehair back to his original position of left guard. Feeney, for his part, is prepared to slot in wherever he's needed.
«I believe I can excel at all three interior positions, so having that versatility is beneficial for the team. That's what I aim to bring to the table," Feeney explained.
