Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reports that the difference between what Bosa is seeking and what the 49ers are willing to offer is less than $4 million. Breer doesn't foresee Bosa playing for another team anytime soon. "The real question is whether he'll become the highest-paid non-quarterback ever, or merely the highest-paid edge rusher," Breer commented in a recent mailbag.
The 49ers are hopeful that an agreement can be reached before their Week 1 clash with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, even if a deal is finalized, it remains uncertain whether Bosa will be game-ready.
