Fans are Confused by Newly Shared Social Media Post by Carson Wentz
Free agent quarterback Carson Wentz was once one of the best in the game. Unfortunately, after sustaining injuries, his career has severely declined, but it looks like he is eyeing a comeback...while giving a shout out to the teams he played for:
As seen in the picture, Wentz is rocking Colts shorts, Commanders jersey, and an Eagles helmet.
Wentz was the 2nd pick overall in the 2016 NFL draft. After being drafted by the Eagles, Wentz spent 5 seasons with the team, and was apart of leading the team to a Super Bowl win.
Wentz was having an MVP candidate year in 2017, and was the reason why the Eagles made it to the Super Bowl. Wentz finished the season with an 11-2 record, 33 passing touchdowns, and only 7 interceptions. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL in week 14 of that season, and missed out on playing in the playoffs. Since the injury, Wentz has not been the same.
After the 2020 season, Wentz was traded to the Colts, where he spent only one season with the team. Then, after the 2021 season, Wentz was traded again, and this time it was to the Commanders.
After the 2022 season, Wentz was released by the Commanders, and has since been looking to sign with a new team.
This post sparked confusion, as it is not common to see players wearing all of their teams merchandise. However, it looks like that in this case, he is showing the NFL world his past, and hopes to remind organizations about the QB he once was.
