At this past week's training camp scrimmage, Claypool and Jackson got into a bit of a fight, which included some pushing and shoving, as well as a helmet flying off of Jackson's head. The fighting continued after the scrimmage, so Bears GM Ryan Poles had to step in.
Bears fans have been debating whether this is bad or good for the team, as in some ways it is good because it shows passion, dedication, and a new fire in these players, while on the other hand, it could be bad due to the teammates not getting along, which affects the team's chemistry.
Now, former players are stepping in and sharing their own thoughts on the situation. Former NFL All-Pro linebacker, Shawne Merriman, has joined the conversation, and shared his thoughts via Twitter:
As stated by Merriman; "training camp fights are inevitable, people shouldn't make it out to be more than what it really is."
Merriman sees this incident as just something that happens on teams, and that fans and the media should not be concerned. Fights are common in training camp, and there is nothing more to discuss, as there are no issues.
