As announced on Wednesday, former Bears DE Jared Allen has been selected as a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2024:

Allen was drafted by the Chiefs as the teams 4th round selection in 2004. He then spent the next 4 seasons in Kansas City, until being traded to the Vikings in exchange for a 1st and 2nd round pick.

Allen then spent his most successful seasons playing for the Vikings, and stayed there until signing with the Bears in 2014 on a 4-year deal. Allen's time in Chicago was very short, as during his 2nd season with the team, the Bears traded him to the Panthers in exchange for a 6th round pick.

Allen then played his final season with the Panthers, and then announced his retirement from the NFL following the 2015-16 season. He signed a one-day contract to finish his career as a Viking.

Allen finished his legendary career as a 4-time All-Pro, a 5-time Pro Bowler, and a 2-time NFL sacks leader.
