After Giants QB Daniel Jones missed week 6 with a neck injury, the team has been working out players to come in as a replacement/backup, along with wide receivers:

QB Matt Barkley and WR Damiere Byrd were both members of the Bears at one points in their careers, but are now hoping to be members of the Giants.

Barkley played for the Bears in the 2016 season. In 6 starts with the team, he finished with a 1-5 record, along with 129 pass completions, 1,611 yards, 8 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions.

Byrd was with the Bears in 2021, and played in 17 games with 4 starts. He finished the season with 26 catches for 329 yards, along with 1 touchdown.

Both of these players are hoping for a chance to return to an NFL team, and have hopes of making the active roster on the Giants.
