As reported by NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Washington Commanders have decided to release backup quarterback Jake Fromm:

Fromm became a popular figure back in 2017, when his season of Netflix's "QB1: Beyond the Lights" was released. After his standout high school career, Fromm committed to the University of Georgia, where he spent 3 years attending.

Fromm was a college superstar since his freshman year, where he was named as a Freshmen All-American and won the SEC Freshman of the Year award. In 43 games played in college, Fromm finished with a total of 7,236 passing yards, 78 passing touchdowns, with only 18 interceptions.

Fromm decided to skip his senior year and enter the draft. He was then drafted by the Bills as a 5th round selection in the 2020 NFL draft.

Fromm has not had a successful NFL career thus far. Fromm was released by the Bills in 2021, and then signed with the Giants. After becoming a free agent in 2022, Fromm signed with the Commanders, but once again, he has been released, and is looking for a new team.
