A dominant AFC team is considering quarterback Carson Wentz as a potential addition, even though he has remained unsigned for half a year.

After a less-than-stellar stint with the Washington Commanders, Wentz found himself released. This was a mere year after the Commanders obtained him in a high-profile trade with the Indianapolis Colts. During an appearance on "SportsCenter", ESPN's Jeremy Fowler (citing Daniel Bates from TheSpun) mentioned that the Kansas City Chiefs, last season's Super Bowl victors, had dialogues with Wentz about possibly joining their ranks:

"There's been a conversation between Carson Wentz and the Chiefs this offseason. They discussed the possibility of Wentz joining the Chiefs lineup in the future, or at least to keep the conversation ongoing. The Chiefs seem interested in the idea. They certainly acknowledge his capabilities. I've heard that Wentz is keen on aligning with a team of championship caliber, where he can potentially be mentored by someone like Patrick Mahomes."

Following the retirement of the Chiefs' backup, Chad Henne, who clinched his second Super Bowl title with the team, they brought in 2011's first-round pick, Blaine Gabbert, to support their star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.

Wentz was pivotal in the Philadelphia Eagles securing playoff berths consecutively from 2017 to 2019. While an injury in 2017 saw backup Nick Foles step up to guide the Eagles to a Super Bowl 52 victory, Wentz's outstanding performance earlier that season was a significant factor in Philadelphia securing the top seed that ultimately led to their championship win.

The 2020 season was challenging for Wentz, as he lost his primary spot to Jalen Hurts. This led to a trade to the Colts. Yet, after the Colts faced a last-minute downturn that dashed their playoff hopes, they decided to part ways with Wentz, trading him to Washington.

If he secures a deal this season, Wentz will find himself with his fourth team in just four years.
