Former QB Colin Kaepernick is back in the news, and he is sending out a message to NFL teams.

The once fan favourite player turned into an isolated player, and teams wanted nothing to do with him.

Kap became the most talked about athlete at one point, but not for skills. In 2016, Kap took a knee during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and the political system of America. Though some praised him, most did not, and wanted him out of the NFL. Kap then became a free agent after that season, was never signed to a new team, and he believes he was "blackballed."

The NFL did not want the negative press and most owners did not agree with Kap's protests. Since becoming a free agent, Kap is still fighting for equality and continues to eye an NFL comeback.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Kap told them that he still works almost every day in hopes of returning. Kaepernick said:

"I'm going to keep pushing. I'm going to keep fighting for it because I know I can step on the field and play"

For his career and the the time of his release, Kap was playing for the 49ers. He was drafted by them in 2011 and helped lead them to the Super Bowl in his 2nd year. Kap was a fan favourite and was one of the most exciting players to watch. He had great footwork, speed, and leadership. His teammates respected him, which led some of his former teammates to follow along in his footsteps, and kneal.

One year after Kap took his first knee, over 200 players joined the club, and knelt during the anthem. This was mainly done in protest of former President Donald Trump, as he was calling the players out and demanding the owners to "fire" them.

Years later, players continued to kneal, but were not punished. Kap led the pack, but was removed from the NFL because of it. Kap is still a skilled QB, so I hope to see him back in the league.
