Here's why DeAndre Hopkins could sign with the Bears
One of the biggest names, if not the biggest, is still looking for a new team. WR DeAndre Hopkins is still a free agent, and looking to sign a big deal.
When looking at the Bears, it may seem like another WR is not needed. With receivers like DJ Moore, Chase Claypool, and Tyler Scott, it looks like the WR position is filled...or is it?
These 3 guys sound like they can make a splash in the WR world, but why not add an already established WR for Fields? These 3 guys are good, but we have not been shown what they can truly do, and if injuries and disappointment get in the way, then Fields has no one to throw to. Signing Hopkins means 1 more weapon, and someone who can make a difference on a team. Hopkins is a 5-time Pro Bowler and the 2017 NFL receiving touchdowns leader. Even when playing on struggling teams, Hopkins has found a way to be a game changer. He is a vet to the game and someone these young guys will want around.
Another thing to remember is that the Bears have money to spend, and Hopkins is looking for that deal. The Bears also have a new and exciting team, something that Hopkins may be looking for. Hopkins has been visiting several of NFL teams, and is open to many different opportunities. But remember this...he wants to be the star. He wants to be the game changer and the reason why fans come out to games. If the Bears do sign him, he will be that. Yes, the Bears have a lot of new and young talent, but what they don't have is a superstar name, which is what Hopkins can bring to the table.
