The official Chicago Bears training camp may be weeks away, yet several players are already seizing every moment to finesse their skills. Quarterback Justin Fields, alongside tight end Cole Kmet and wide receivers D.J. Moore and Darnell Mooney, were recently spotted honing their craft at Main South High School in Park Ridge. The session took place on Monday, just before the 4th of July holiday, and even prompted a photo op with Maine South football coach Dave Inserra.

While it's not unusual for NFL players to use local high schools as their off-season training grounds, Mooney's presence on the field definitely turned heads. His commitment is commendable, especially given the fact that he's bouncing back from a broken ankle he suffered during a November game against the New York Jets, which led to his exit from the remainder of the season. Despite his inability to participate in the team's organized activities or mini-camp over the last few months due to ongoing rehabilitation, his recent appearance indicates he's well on his way to recovery.

Echoing this sentiment, Head Coach Matt Eberflus recently asserted Mooney was "on track" for training camp, and judging by the receiver's current form, it seems accurate. As the season commences, Mooney, along with Kmet and Moore, are set to be Fields' primary targets in the passing game.

The sight of Bears' players undertaking extra training drills outside official team activities is always a thrill for fans. However, catching a glimpse of a reinvigorated Mooney engaging in these sessions certainly takes the excitement up a notch.
