Before this past Sunday's matchup against the Broncos, Claypool told the media that he feels like the Bears are not using him properly. After making these comments, the coaches were upset, and ultimately decided to punish Claypool.
It was then announced on Sunday that Claypool will not join the team, as he was ruled as a healthy scratch.
As revealed by Bears insider Josh Schrock, Bears QB Justin Fields spoke to the media about the Claypool drama earlier today:
As read in the tweet, Fields said:
It seems like Fields feels bad for his teammate, but understands the consequences that come with disrespecting your coaches. Fields makes it seem like he already knows that Claypool's time with the Bears is coming to an end, as he explains that he will be in touch with him no matter what happens.
Fields sees Claypool as a talented WR, but understands that this situation between him and the Bears is not working out, and will most likely end with Claypool being traded.
