Lions Veteran WR Announces that he is Stepping Away from Football

As announced via Instagram, Lions WR Marvin Jones Jr. has decided to step away from football:

As read in his post, Jones will be stepping away from the Lions so that he can take care of his personal family matters.

Jones was drafted by the Bengals back in 2012 as the teams 5th round selection. He then played for the Lions, Jaguars, and then re-signed with the Lions before the 2023 season.

In 145 games played, Jones has a total of 542 catches, 7,386 receiving yards, and 58 touchdowns.

After Jones revealed he was stepping away from football, the Lions announced that he has been released.
