Mitch Trubisky has signed with a new team!
Mike Garafolo has reported that Mitchell Trubisky has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The contract is reportedly a two-year deal.
The Steelers were in the mix for both Jimmy Garoppolo and Deshaun Watson but they ended up signing Trubisky.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said that the decision for Trubisky came down between the New York Giants and The Steelers. He was looking for the best chance to get back on the field as a starter and also win games. This made his choice easy because the Steelers gave him a way better chance of winning games.
Mitch was probably the best quarterback on the free-agent market this off-season. He wasted no time signing with a new team. It will be his third team. He was drafted in 2017 by the Bears. After 4 seasons, he joined the Buffalo Bills to back up Josh Allen. He will now have a chance at a starting role in Pittsburgh next season.
While Trubisky is widely remembered by Bears fans for the draft trade and the poor play, you cannot blame him for all of the Bears' lack of success during his tenure in Chicago. He played for a lot of very bad coaching staff and he did not have great talent surrounding him for most of his time. I believe he has a good chance at success in the future.
