The Bears are aiming to claw their way out of the NFC North's bottom rung this year, and to make that happen, they'll need Claypool to be at the top of his game. However, currently, it seems his attention is more attuned to style statements than enhancing his skills.
Claypool recently shared a snapshot on social media where he's donned an extraordinarily outlandish ensemble while standing next to an unidentified woman. It also appears that the wide receiver is clutching what looks like a purse.
The Steelers bid adieu to Claypool, sending him over to the Bears in exchange for a second-round draft pick, a 32nd overall, right at the trade deadline.
Claypool's arrival in November was met with a buzz of excitement. There was a strong belief that this talented receiver, in his third year, could be the catalyst to propel quarterback Justin Fields towards super-stardom. However, their shared time on the field was cut short due to injuries.
Marc Silverman, from ESPN's Waddle & Silvy Show, recently expressed that insiders within the Bears organization feel that Claypool has fallen short of the team's expectations, and his mindset appears to be amiss as he approaches his inaugural full season with the team.
With only 10 catches for a total of 140 yards, Claypool's performance last season with the Bears left much to be desired. He also did not score in 2022.
Armed with a full off-season to sync up with Fields off the field and immerse himself in the offensive strategy, Claypool is eager to shift the narrative surrounding him.
There's speculation that he could potentially be released by the end of the next season. All options are on the table, but Claypool can dispel these if he ups his game.
