It's not something you see often: Two brothers being cut from their respective NFL teams within hours of each other.

The Philadelphia Eagles released cornerback Greedy Williams on Saturday morning, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Shortly after, New York Giants' head coach Brian Daboll announced the release of Greedy's brother, Rodarius Williams, via ESPN's Jordan Raanan.

The Cleveland Browns originally drafted Greedy as the 46th overall pick in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The former LSU star cornerback had an impressive college career, earning First-team All-SEC honors in both 2017 and 2018, and Consensus All-American recognition in 2018.

However, Greedy's time with the Browns was plagued by injuries. Over four seasons, he played in just 39 games, missing the entire 2020 season due to a shoulder injury. His most productive season came in 2021, when he started eight games and recorded two interceptions, 10 pass breakups, and one forced fumble. After his rookie contract with the Browns ended, Greedy signed with the Eagles in March.

On the other hand, Rodarius, the elder Williams brother, was selected by the New York Giants in the sixth round (201st overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft. The former Oklahoma State standout played in eight games over two seasons with the Giants, tallying one interception, two pass breakups, and 16 combined tackles.
