After Taylor revealed that he wants out of Indianapolis, rumours quickly spread all through the NFL. It was reported that Taylor was unhappy with his deal, and after a meeting with Colts owner Jim Irsay, Taylor was ready to leave.
Though it was initially revealed that the Colts would not trade Taylor, it is now being reported that they are allowing him to seek a trade, as revealed by NFL insider Adam Schefter:
Adams believes that the Colts would trade Taylor to the Bears, in exchange of 2 first-round draft picks. He also mentions that the Bears have the cap space to pay him, which is very true.
The only issue here is that trading 2 first-rounders for a running back is risky. RBs do not stay in the NFL for long, as they are more injury prone than other positions. Giving up 2 first-rounders means that the Bears are putting all of their faith in an RB, which may not be the best idea.
If the Bears can trade only 1 first-round pick, then I can see this working out for both parties, as 2 first-rounders sounds way too risky for the Bears.
