New Orleans Saints wide receiver, Michael Thomas, launched a scathing attack on the National Football League and their medical staff in a now-deleted tweet. Thomas was responding to news about former NFL safety, Chris Maragos, who recently won a $43.5 million lawsuit over a case concerning his knee injury. Thomas criticized the league's medical staff, stating that they "suck" and are both "cheap" and "uneducated". He also alleged that they lack the necessary "education or curriculum".

Despite being the 2019 Offensive Player of the Year and off to a historic start to his career, injuries have unfortunately derailed Thomas' progress since 2020. Due to an ankle injury, he missed nine games in 2020, which ultimately cost him the entire 2021 season as well.

Thomas managed to score two touchdowns in a thrilling comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1 of the past season, but the injury bug struck once again, forcing him to sit out the final 14 regular season games.
