With the NFL Honors happening tonight in Los Angeles, a question that is worth asking is: Should Chicago Bears' edge rusher Robert Quinn have been a candidate?

There is also a case to be made he should have been considered for comeback player of the year if it weren't for Joe Burrow and Dak Prescott's incredible seasons. But, for the sake of the argument let's take a look at Quinn's chances for Defensive Player of the Year.

Both Myles Garrett and T.J Watt had amazing seasons. However, I feel like Robert Quinn deserves more credit than he is receiving at the moment. He had 18,5 sacks, 17 tackles for loss, 4 forced fumbles and 22 other QB hits. This is what I call having a monster year. Quinn season's needs to be talked about more in my opinion. What he has accomplished is even better because he was on a losing team. When your team is down, you have way fewer pass-rush situations. The Bears were down on the scoreboard more than 65% of the season. This means that a guy on a winning team can have almost twice as many real pass-rushing situations. Another argument in the South Carolina's native favor is the lack of great talent around him. Because Khalil Mack was not playing for most of the season, Quinn had all the attention of the opposing offenses. He still put up amazing numbers in spite of that.

Here is his record-breaking sack versus the New-York Giants:
