Chris Olave and Justin Fields played two seasons together in college at The Ohio State University. They both had tremendous success and were nothing short of spectacular as a duo. It truly looked like they build great chemistry from the get-go. In 20 games played together, Olave had 1566 yards and 19 touchdowns. They have mentioned multiple times in interviews how their friendship grew a lot off the field also during those two seasons.
Olave is a very interesting prospect. He may not have the best top speed in the draft, but he sure can run some good routes. He has an unteachable ability to always get open. He is such a smooth route runner. When you put on his game tape, you can rarely see him get covered. The best comparison you will probably hear a lot during the draft process is Justin Jefferson from the Minnesota Vikings. It is granted. They play the position the same way. You can see so many similarities in the route running, and they both have that «baller» mentality as well.
What would it take to get him?
It looks like Olave is projected to be taken somewhere between picks 10 and 25 at the moment. This could of course all change depending on what happens at the combine and his Pro Day. I think the Bears could be tempted to trade up in the first round to get a guy like Olave. Maybe the Bears could even think about adding Khalil Mack to a potential deal
