During Wednesday's league meetings, Chicago Bears chairman George McCaskey playfully poked fun at New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito, as reported by Jonathan Jones of NFL on CBS.

One of the key decisions made during the event was the NFL's commitment to expand its global presence by doubling the number of international games from four to eight, starting in 2025. In previous years, teams had the option to "protect four home games from being selected for international play," but this quota has now been reduced by half.

As outlined by Jones, the Bears, represented by McCaskey, were the sole dissenters in the vote. McCaskey, aged 67, voiced his concerns during the discussion, arguing that fans desire to watch top NFL quarterbacks, and the team wanted to retain the right to host such high-profile matchups.

It was at this point that McCaskey made a humorous reference to "Tommy Cutlets."

"We have a new generation of exceptional talents coming in," McCaskey quipped, according to the report. "Fans want to see stars like Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, and, of course, Tommy DeVito."

This remark reportedly elicited laughter from those present, with Jones describing it as the highlight of the meeting. A source in the meeting characterized the joke as "the best line of the entire meeting."

Jones emphasized that the joke was lighthearted and well-received.

Tommy DeVito has garnered attention in New York as the Giants' QB1 in recent weeks, with Jones likening his rise to that of Jeremy Lin in the NBA back in 2012. DeVito made his NFL debut in Week 8, and despite a rough start, he has since improved, leading the Giants to three consecutive wins and earning the NFC Offensive Player of the Week award.
