The Bears have bolstered their defensive coaching staff with the addition of Matt Pees, who joins as an analyst specializing in advance/special projects. Pees brings experience from his tenure with the Falcons and Titans, where he served in various defensive roles.
During his time with the Falcons, Pees contributed as a defensive assistant, while with the Titans, he worked as both a defensive assistant and quality control coach, primarily focusing on the defensive line. Prior to his NFL experience, Pees spent eight years coaching at the high school level.
Notably, Pees arrives following a successful stint with the Falcons, where their defense recorded 42 sacks, marking the sixth-highest total in franchise history. Additionally, the Falcons' defense led the NFL in fewest penalty yards and ranked second in allowing the fewest second-half points per game (7.9) during his tenure.
