Devin Hester was selected as one of the 15 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2022. It is his first year of eligibility.

Hester played 11 seasons in the NFL including 8 of them with the Chicago Bears. He was selected to 4 pro bowls, 3 all-pro teams and he was a member of both 2000's HOF team and the 2010's.

He was selected in the 2006 NFL draft by the Chicago Bears with the 57th overall pick. His career was nothing short of spectacular. He has pretty much every single record you could have as a return specialist including his 19 kick-return touchdowns and his 14 punt return touchdowns.

Hester won special teams player of the week a staggering 13 times in his career.

In his first game in the NFL, Hester scored an 84-yard punt return touchdown against the Green Bay Packers. However, the biggest moment of his career is by far his kickoff return touchdown in the Super Bowl in 2006, his rookie year. The Florida native became the first player in Super Bowl history to take back an opening kickoff for a touchdown.

The question that remains to be answered is: Can a full-time return specialist be a first-ballot Hall of Famer? I think if anyone can do it, it is certainly Devin Hester.

Here is the play referred to earlier by the legend, Devin Hester:
