This player will benefit so much from Khalil Mack's departure
Khalil Mack was one of the best players in Bears' recent history. So, his departure will create a gap behind him and he will be missed for certain. We know that Robert Quinn will be able to shoulder a lot of the pass-rushing duties. However, he won't be able to do it by himself. I think that a player who will shine next year with more opportunity is Trevis Gipson.
The second-year defensive end put up very good production in replacement for Mack in 2021. He totalled 7 sacks opposite of Robert Quinn and finished the season with a decent 70.4 grade (per Pro Football Focus). It will be interesting to see how he is used next season and how new DC Alan Williams rotates his pass-rushers.
