There's not a position rumoured more for the Chicago Bears to select than wide receiver. With the Bears not selecting until day 2, with the 39th pick in the draft, most of the big names on top of the list will be gone. So far the more ideal targets linked to Chicago have been George Pickens (Georgia, 6'3'' 195 lbs), Christian Watson (NDSU, 6'4'' 208 lbs) and Tyquan Thornton (Baylor, 6'2'' 181 lbs).
While those all would be great additions, one name that has been flying under the radar a bit is Alec Pierce (Cincinnati, 6'3'' 211 lbs). Pierce impressed at the combine running a 4.41-40 yard dash, a 40.5» vertical (which was 1st among all WR), a 129» broad jump (7th among WR) and top 5 times among all WRs in the 3 cone drill and 20-yard shuttle. Pierce has the size and speed to fill the Bears' role as their «X» receiver in Getsy's offense. During his time in Cincinnati, Pierce showed his skills tracking the ball in the air downfield proving he can play a big and tough physical brand of football that this offense needs.
You can see here Bears' new WR coach Tyke Tolbert working out Pierce at his pro day. Tolbert is set to also be a great addition to the staff and one of the best at his job. He is highly regarded by his former players.
