Was Jim McMahon a victim of the dirtiest plays of all time?
In the history of the NFL, there have been so many vicious hit. While it may be part of the game, some of the cheaper hits should not have their place on Sundays.
Here is one of those plays that happened on November 23rd, 1986:
As you can see, Jim McMahon gets completely body-slammed by Charles Martin after the play. It was honestly hard to watch. There are no two ways about it, that was a free shot. Those are the kind of hits that can seriously put a human's life in danger.
McMahon has experienced memory loss and other symptoms that can be linked to CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy). The Super Bowl-winning quarterback was blunt about those symptoms, saying, «I know I have CTE.» There are a lot of cases of former NFL players that suffer from CTE and it has become a real problem in the past few years.
McMahon responded to a tweet saying that he believes this was the dirtiest play ever. Here is his response:
By saying the start of it all, it leads us to believe that he is talking about his CTE symptoms.
