Following the investigation around disturbing hazing allegations among the Northwestern football team, head coach Pat Fitzgerald has been fired.

After players reported hazing incidents involved with with the NCAA team, the Northwestern Wildcats football team, there has been an ongoing investigation.

First, one player spoke out and opened up the student newspaper "The Daily Northwestern" about his experience. Then, another player joined him in sharing the disturbing details. In the article written by the newspaper, they explain that one of the players thinks that head coach Pat Fitzgerald knew about the incidents:

"I've seen it with my own eyes, and it's just absolutely egregious and vile and inhumane behavior"

This player also explains how he reported the incidents to the school back in November of 2022, yet it has taken this long for any form of change.

The head coach was originally just suspended, but now after a full investigation, Pat was fired. University president Michael Schill said this in a letter to the Northwestern community:

"The decision comes after a difficult and complex evaluation of my original discipline decision imposed last week on Coach Fitzgerald for his failure to know and prevent significant hazing in the football program"

Even with the firing, the team is still denying many of these allegations.
