Even with some amazing moves so far this offseason, the Bears are not quite done yet. They are still in need of some key players to fill up positions, and this Defensive end may be a good fit. Free agent Jadeveon Clowney is available, and the Bears should make an offer.
Clowney was the number 1 pick back in the 2014 NFL Draft. After being selected by the Houston Texans, he played with them until 2018, and found himself in Seattle and Tennessee, both for just 1 season. in 2021, Clowney signed a 1-year deal with the Cleveland Browns, and had a great season. He then re-signed them, but due to some comments he made and some drama started, his relationship with the team was ruined. Now, Clowney is out of a job, and looking to join a new team.
A team that could use a veteran DE are the Chicago Bears. After signing linebacker and 2-time Pro Bowler Tremaine Edmunds, the Bears started looking strong on D, but one player can't fix it all. If the Bears sign Clowney, they will be bringing in a defensive end who has been to Pro Bowls, was a 2nd-Team All pro, and one of the biggest stars in college football. The former 1st pick is a beast on the field, and with the right system and support, we could be seeing him put up numbers like he used to.
Clowney is a player who can bounce back quick, as after having a bad season in 2020 with the Titans, he was able to have one of his best seasons of his career the next year, with the Browns.
He is a player who can easily adjust to a new system, so if he matches well, then the Bears would be perfect for him.
